How 2 Make Ur Resume Perfect

What To Leave Out of Your Resume

There's a lot one is supposed to put on their resume,
but have you remembered to pay attention to what should be removed?

Detail

if you have experience, your resume should show it. After all, your resume is the professional you - your life, experiences - everything that makes you a better candidates. And that doesn't mean you scrimp on the print cost and use a small font-size and abbreviated descriptions so that it all fits into one page. If you've lived large, your resume should be large.

Just a Degree?

Everybody being interviewed has a degree. What do you have (i.e. work experience) that sets you apart. And not only do you need to mention work experience, but your accomplishments - they further set you apart.

What To Leave Out of Your Resume

Bad Paper

The paper your resume is printed on shouldn't be of an inferior quality. While most cyber cafes stock high quality paper, this is still worth paying attention to. A discerning HR at a premium company might be turned off by faded yellowing paper. And only A4!

Useless Hobbies

A hobby is a activity you do in your leisure time. There's nothing wrong with watching TV as a hobby, but the HR interviewing you views your hobbies as an extension of your productivity, and will ask you questions about it.
What To Leave Out of Your Resume

Fancy Fonts

Times New Roman, Helvetica and Arial are your friends. Comic Sans is not. That said, be safe with only one font for all headings, subheadings and descriptions.

Typos, Bad Grammar

Not allowed. Use short sentences, small, words. If you're still unsure, have it checked out by someone who knows the language better than you.

Lies

If you're caught, not only will you be banned from the company, but you also might be blacklisted from a lot of allied companies.

Embarrassing Email Address

This one is optional, but it is still advisable to change your email username from something irritating (e.g. handsomehunk@mail.net to something simple. The easiest? your name@email.

Honorific Titles and Flowery Language

An HR will laugh at "May I bring to your esteemed attention…"in your covering letter, or any attempts at projecting a grandiose image of yourself. The real you will be sitting right in front of the interviewer in a few days, not the resume.

Awesome 3D Real Paintings

As ‘realistic’ as it may look, this incredible painting is simply part of a new exhibition of three dimensional art in North East China. The collection of paintings, on display at a contemporary art exhibition in the Jilin province, uses techniques similar to the ‘stand-up’ advertising hoardings that are sometimes painted on the edges of sports pitches. The pieces are a huge hit with spectators who have already shown a talent for interacting with the works to become part of the art themselves.

Mobile secret in your hands

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a lifesaver or an emergency tool for survival.

Check out the things that you can do with it:

1. The emergency number worldwide for mobile networks is 112.
If you find yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.
2. Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keys? This may come in handy some day, and it's a good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Note: It works fine! I've tried it and it unlocked my car over a cell phone!
3. Hidden battery power
Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important call, and you don't have a charger. Nokia phones come with a reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell will restart with this reserve and the phone will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.
4. How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06#.  A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. Please take note that this procedure works so far only with Nokia phones. But all mobile phones have an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) which is a number unique to every GSM and UMTS mobile phone. It is usually found printed on or underneath the phone's battery.

5. You Spy On Cell Phones

This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody did this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Natural Mass Destruction Of All Times Around The World

A sequence of the acts of God that have claimed more lives than any other event in human history.

Throughout history there have been thousands of natural disasters. However, some have been even more destructive than any others.
  1. Aleppo Earthquake

Took place in 1130 ad in northern Syria. Has been labelled as the fourth worst Earthquake of all time, causing the deaths of over 230,000 people, mainly due to the destruction of a number of citadels housing large populations. The town of Aleppo was totally levelled in the Earthquake, though casualties were reduced because the townspeople fled at the first-shocks came.
  2. The Banqiao Dam

In 1975 over a year’s worth of rainfall fell in 24 hours. The dam, in south-eastern China, collapsed, having been designed for less than half that. The ensuing flood of water, gushed down into the lowlands as a wave 10km long and 7 metres high. Over 230,000 people died due to the collapse, but over 11 million were affected.
  3. The Tangshan Earthquake

The third deadliest Earthquake of all time, this happened in 1976 in North-eastern China. The Earthquake struck early in the morning registering 7.8 on the Richter scale. Casualty figures were originally quoted as more than 600,000, but recent evidence suggests that it may have been less than 250,000.
  4. The Antioch Earthquake

Very little evidence survives this quake, but records suggest that upwards of 260,000 people died. Location: Antakya (Antioch), Turkey.
  5. Indian Ocean Tsunami

Most of us will remember this. On Boxing Day 2004 a large Earthquake beneath the Indian Ocean triggered a series of devastating Tsunamis. The Earthquake itself registered 9.3 on the Richter scale, and is the second largest ever recorded on a seismograph. The Tsunamis claimed 283,000 lives, and the world responded massively, donating more than $7 billion.
  6. India Cyclone

In 1839 a large cyclone ripped through Coringa, killing 300,000 people.
  7. Bhola Cyclone

In what is now Bangladesh, in 1970 a cyclone tore through the country. West Bengal was struck, adding to the damage and the casualties. Winds reached a peak of 185kph and an offshore island had 45% of its population killed by the winds. 500,000 people died.
  8. Shaanxi Earthquake

The deadliest Earthquake of all time took place in 1556, in the Shaanxi province, China. The devastation wrought by the Earthquake would now compare only to the detonation of a nuclear bomb. The tremors were so powerful new valleys were opened and cracks appeared in the ground. Upwards of 830,000 died, more than a quarter of who died in caves, as landslides trapped them.
  9. Yellow River Flood

The yellow river in China is known to regularly flood. However, in 1887 a particularly bad flood due to a high riverbed broke through dykes and killed more than a million people.
  10. China Flood

A drought had continued in China for 2 years, until in 1931 most major rivers flooded. The waters rose so rapidly no one had much time to reach higher ground. Overall, the series of floods killed between 2 and 4 million people however, over 100 million were affected.

Cuteness Overload For Your Touch-Enabled Handset

Perhaps it’s a stereotype, perhaps it’s a fact. Regardless of how you look at it, some of use like cute things. Cute things have the ability to bring us a big smile on our faces and it also is suitable for people of all ages. Whether it is a cute little gecko or a cute tiger, cute always brings a positive feeling to us.
Cute Avatar
The developer behind BatchUninstaller and AutoSisInstaller surprises us with his Cute Avatar. This application displays an avatar that walks around on your Symbian-powered handset to keep you entertained. Almost like a digital version of the fishbowl you can choose a variety of avatars. These are gecko, tiger, monkey, rhinoceros, fortuna, butterfly, dog and xmas. On startup you are taken right to the settings that allows you to do the following. Switch the application on or off, set if the avatar is displayed only on the homescreen or throughout the entire menu, refresh frequency of the avatar ranging from 1/5 to 5 seconds, the size of the avatar ranging from 50 to 200 pixels and finally the type of avatar to display.
Once set up, your avatar of choice will be displayed running around aimlessly doing their own things just to entertain you. It’s not the most useful application but does brings out the cuteness and keeps you company should you get bored. The application can be bought from the OVI store and supported handsets are those equipped with S60 5th or Symbian^1. The installation file is around 2 Mb whereas 3 Mb is required for the application to install. Further installing the application to the memory card works just fine.

BlockGO
Next up on the cute list is BlockGo from Frienzplay. This is a puzzle game with nice big buttons and simple gameplay. The objective here is to move the red block with the constantly changing mood from the left to the exit on the right. To be able to do that you have to move the blocks that stands in his way. The blocks can only be moved accordingly to their position meaning that you can’t move a vertical block horizontally and vice versa. Once you’ve completed a level you can play it again by choosing the select level in the main menu. What’s neat here is that you don’t have to play the different levels sequentially and can pop in to play a level anytime you want. In total the game have 99 levels, enough to keep you brain occupied. Once you’ve completed a particular level you are shown the solution for this level, something that can be helpful should you strive to achieve gold medal in each level. There is no multiplayer mode in this game so it’s a one man show, neither are there any way to upload your highscore for the world to see. The game can be bought from the OVI Store whereas there is a ‘lite’ version should you want to try before buying.
Onion Tasty Dream
The same folks also have made onions look cute. Originating from ‘smileys’ I believe Onion is an avatar that have the classic big head and big shiny eyes commonly seen in anime from Asia.
The main screen consist of four options, starting a new game, see rankings, help and exiting the game. Here again you get acquainted with nice big buttons that is essentially hard to miss. Help brings up a transparent black screen with the help text written in white, very readable. Rankings opens up your built in webbrowser taking you online to see the global rankings.
The game is easily controlled by using the accelerometer on your Symbian-powered handset and you control onion by tilting the handset left or right while holding it in portrait mode. The game unfortunately doesn’t support landscape mode, something that is a bit understandable since it would be difficult to get the overview of the game.
In Onion Tasty Dreams you guide ‘Onion’ to get delicous food. From a ramp, you just tilt your handset to the left or right and ‘Onion’ will jump off the ramp to catch the food, gaining you a higher score. Cakes, burgers or chicken is his favorite and by eating these things the vertical bar will increase. This bar also functions as the timer in this game. Should you however eat mushrooms this bar goes down and it will all be game over. When the game ends you can choose to play again or submit your score. The built in webbrowser will launch and your score will be submitted. The game made by Frienzplay is available for free on OVI Store
Onion Trickshow
Another game featuring the same character is Onion Trickshow. In this game you balance a stick for as long as you can. Again this is done by utilizing the built in accelerometer on your Symbian-powered handset. Like Onion Tasty Dreams this game also neither supports landscape mode or multiplayer. The music in this game is also very simple and plays for a couple of minutes before going into a loop. The music is not very irritating, however you will get bored of the music should you play the game for extended periods of time. When I first saw Onion I thought it was a cat. Anyway, the game is available for free from the OVI Store.
Miluegg Jump
The cuteness doesn’t stop with just onions. When Frienzplay made this game they must have seen ‘The Egg Song’ and thought that making a game featuring an egg as the main character was a great idea. Following the same gameplay concept as with onions, Miluegg is controlled by tilting the phone left or right. Along the way you can find powerups such as cakes and donuts that will enhance your score and jumping on what they call a ‘jet pudding’ that will send egg flying quickly upwards. Some challenges occur in this game taking the form of platforms that will break apart and obstacles on the platforms such as dogs. A neat detail here is the background that despite being static goes in loop giving the game an extra touch of dynamic. Also free from the OVI Store.
Miluegg Paratrooper
Last but least is another game featuring Miluegg, this time it’s not jumping that matters but how good you can control your parachute. Along the way are aliens and flying saucers that will crash into you should you be carelesss. By collecting feathers you gain better air time and higher scores. This game unlike the other abovementioned games offers a mulitplayermode in terms of playing against each other via bluetooth. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to test this but this could prove to be very fun. There is a minor bug in this game and that is the counter for the score. Once you pass 9999 it counts down to 0 again. This doesn’t affect the gameplay as such but was rather confusing at first. What really surprised me is that you can use the volume buttons on your handset to control the volume in the game, this is rather uncommon for games written in java. With the exception of BlockGO all the other games from Frienzplay are in java. As you can see my score was successfully uploaded and I went straight to third place. Available for free on OVI Store do you think you can beat my score?
For more information and screenshots of the Frienzplay games you can head over to their official website. For applications from Thinkchange go to Thinkchange.cn, where you can find more useful and fun applications. Which of the applications did you like best and why?
